I really should stop writing down my dreams after an hour or two. So many details fade away...

---

I was in a setting based on my old schoolgrounds, although it was overrun by vegetation and larger than the actual thing. It was a starry night, and I spent a while just exploring the area.

I arrived at a makeshift tennis court, and on the other side was standing Steve Irwin, who was a world tennis champion in the context of that dream. He challenged me to a friendly match, and I accepted. What followed was a long and arduous game-like battle, which I managed to win in the end. I remember there being slowdowns whenever the ball was hard to reach, in order to give me an easier time, and that my tactics relied somehow on throwing off the other's balance with an irregular ball rhythm or something approaching that.

After that, a few fireworks went off in the sky, and I went back to the main area of the school, where a few of my high school classmates were gathered. We sat down, and started watching what became some sort of spatial light show, where distant satellites formed animated patterns (the ones I remember were Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and a Touhou danmaku fight).

Once it finished, I checked my phone to see what this was all about, and saw a video announcement from the chinese government that proclaimed they had sent 17500 tons of satellite to space. The inertia from the movements during the light show had reversed the earth's spin for a bit, un-freezing deep underground forests, which should attenuate the effects of global warming for about 50 years. I woke up as everyone around me started shouting excitedly about the news.

I didn't sleep at home last night, although I did go to bed earlier than usual. It's intriguing to think of the sheer number of external factors that could influence our dreams.
