After a brief week without classes, I'm back in the grind again. I feel better prepared to handle it all this time, but can't explain exactly why. Periodic mood swing? Sudden boost in confidence? Or just the consequences of a slightly better sleep schedule? Who knows.

Last week was the deadline for submitting the courses we'd like to pick for next semester. I decided to follow my heart and ditch nearly all the networking and web development courses, since the curriculum was filled either with subjects I already know or technologies I would rather not spend a second more using (J2EE, seriously?). Instead, I filled my schedule with machine learning, information theory, and computer vision classes. This would be hell for me right now due to my subpar statistics knowledge, but I plan to train that hard in the next few months so I can be fully prepared to tackle these units.

Writing these entries at 3AM is honestly a pain. I get too drowsy to really go in length about things that have interested me recently, even though there's actually quite a bit I want to talk about. I'll do better tomorrow.

Today's tune: DJ Krush - No More. I'm impressed with how DJ Krush still releases albums semi-frequently, with a production quality that never ceases to increase. Nujabes' spiritual brother enjoys playing with darker ambient sounds and samples, but perhaps what I like best about him is his skill in live performances. I hope I will be able to attend one of his shows someday.
