I used to have an IRC acquaintance that'd contact me every couple months from a different nickname. I don't exactly remember our first encounter; it was in a pokemon-related channel, at the very least. Anyway, they were quite a knowledgeable /jp/sie, and taught me how to install some touhou doujin games I couldn't seem to get working.

Talking to them was very fun. I felt special when they'd log on IRC just to speak with me. We wouldn't actually start up a conversation very often, but when we did, I'd always have a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

The last time we talked to each other was around 2015, I think. I haven't heard from them since. I don't know what prompted me to remember this tonight, but if you ever stumble upon this entry, I hope you're doing alright.
